I am currently employed as an Instructor in Syntax at the University of Chicago. Prior to that, I was a PhD student and postdoc at the Universitšt Leipzig, where I defended my dissertation entitled Cumulativity in Syntactic Derivations in 2017. I have also studied at the University of Manchester and the Humboldt-Universitšt zu Berlin.
I mainly work on syntax and its interfaces to morphology, phonology and semantics with a particular focus on understudied languages.
Topics I have worked on and am currently interested in include:
- Ellipsis phenomena
- Optimality-theoretic syntax
- Syntax/semantics of wh-movement
- Agreement and case
- Syntax/PF interface
- The morpho-syntax of English, German, Slavic and Akan
